Quality of light
Light distribution, uniformity and glare control are evaluated in relation to the spaces and users, with attention to the dispersion of light and the surrounding context.
TèKHNE / SERVICES
We support public authorities in the analysis, design and planning of public lighting interventions, with attention to the quality of the service and costs over time.
Redeveloping public lighting means reading together spaces, systems and methods of use. Roads, crossings, pedestrian paths and squares require specific assessments: just replacing the devices does not complete the project.
We start from knowledge of the assets and needs to compare the alternatives, define investment priorities and accompany the Administration's choices. Energy efficiency integrates with the quality of light, maintenance and continuity of service.
Light distribution, uniformity and glare control are evaluated in relation to the spaces and users, with attention to the dispersion of light and the surrounding context.
Efficient luminaires, adequate optics and operating profiles consistent with the project help reduce energy waste, maintaining the required performance.
Accessibility of components, maintenance and availability of data contribute to building a manageable system, as well as efficient at the time of installation.
02 / THE PATH
The support is defined on the scope of the assignment, on the information available and on the priorities of the institution.
We collect data on light points, appliances, supports, panels and switching modes. Consumption, maintenance and critical issues reported help to reconstruct the initial picture and the additional information needed.
We compare equipment redevelopment, lighting control and possible control systems. Investments, expected savings and management costs are read together, with respect to the performances to be guaranteed.
We connect energy assessments to lighting and system design. Technical support for assignments helps to define requirements, performances and verification criteria consistent with the objectives.
We define the references to read consumption and operation after the intervention. Measurements and management data, according to the assignment, help compare the results with the project hypotheses.
03 / THE CHOICES THAT COUNT
Technologies acquire value when they respond to the needs of the territory. Each solution must be evaluated for compatibility, expected benefits and economic sustainability.
Feasibility and tender support ↗The choice considers optics, power and characteristics of the light as a function of the area. Better lighting means directing the flow where it is needed, avoiding oversizing and dispersions.
Planned flow reduction, time control and fault reporting can improve management. The opportunity is evaluated with respect to the network, lighting categories, costs and operational capabilities of the institution.
In addition to purchase, we consider energy, maintenance and replacements. The comparison between scenarios makes the investment conditions and the resources necessary to maintain the service clearer.

04 / THE EXPERIENCE IN THE TERRITORY
TèKHNE has developed and implemented public lighting efficiency projects for five municipal administrations. The dedicated page presents the territories and the intervention path.
05 / RULES AND CRITERIA
The design choices consider the technical standards, the applicable environmental criteria and the regional and local provisions on the containment of light pollution.
UNI 11248 guides the selection of lighting categories through risk analysis. The UNI EN 13201 series deals with performance requirements, calculation and verification of street lighting performance.
Consult the UNI reference ↗The Minimum Environmental Criteria concern the acquisition of sources and devices for public lighting and the assignment of the system design service.
Read the CAMs on the MASE website · PDF ↗The criteria for awarding the public lighting service combine the energy issue with management and maintenance. Contents and documents must refer to the procedure and framework in force.
